What age?

A lot of people ask me what age our classes are suitable for.

The answer? The classes are totally suitable from birth to five years, although I get some siblings during the holiday that are older and still enjoy the sessions.

The important thing to remember is that sensory development builds the foundations for all future learning and supports children with key skills throughout their lives.

Babies are learning to turn towards the different sounds, reaching for objects that interest them, feeling different textures and beginning to associate their own preferences with them (do they like them or not, are they safe to touch, will it make them feel good).

Younger children are beginning to develop their listening skills while an adult is reading a story. They are beginning to manipulate objects and explore them in a variety of different ways. You may also see the beginnings of turn taking.

Older children are fully developing their turn taking. They are also able to begin to describe what they think the objects feel like, what they think is going to happen in the story and talk about their preferences.

So our sessions can support learning for your child, or children it can also give you ideas to carry on their learning at home.

We look forward to seeing you at a session soon x
